Annoying
Someone has introduced my wife to Gilmore Girls. She has checked out several DVD sets from the library which I am forced to watch with her. Someone will pay. I need to borrow some classic West Wing episodes or maybe some Arrested Development to get these contrived conversations out of my head. Off to Hulu.

To be fair, The West Wing has as contrived and stylized conversation. It is just far more intellegent, funny, and less annoying than GG. What you need to watch is the movie His Girl Friday. Both you and Chas would like it. I am sure of it. It is old (1940s) and it has Cary Grant. That is great dialoge.
Let me know which season of West Wing you would like to borrow.
i have to agree with you-that show annoys me….probably not for the same reasons. i hate it because there is no real authority. the daughter is so disrespectfula nd the mom is more of a friend than a mom. i hate stuff like that. —BUT on the other hand you probably love some stuff that Chas thinks is annoying and she suffers through-its that give and take thing! LOL! i agree-rent some Classics!
@Jeremy – Yes, I totally see what you’re saying and I think that’s why I immediately thought of West Wing as I watched it. The dialogue is quick and snappy but its so banal and obvious. I’ll definitely borrow some West Wing, perhaps the earliest season you have.
@Abbey – Yeah, that totally bothers me too. The whole cool mom thing. I don’t think I’d let my kids watch this show. And I’m sure Chas could come on here and tell about the annoying things I like to watch (I don’t think she’s a big fan of West Wing or Arrested Development).
Hey now people- stop ganging up on me! Sorry- I just watched one season and now I have to see how it turns out so I am stuck for 6 more seasons! I do agree- I dont like the whole cool mom thing either- I know that is not the way to parent and I will never be like hat as a mom, but I still like the show!l
(Mark, I am with you….I will try to find some other show for her to be obsessed with. “I Love Lucy”?)
Chastity. I will tell you how it ends. Lorelai is actually Sidney Bristow
I’m sure the reason that that someone introduced your wife to Gilmore Girls was because you had to leave her for a week, and she didn’t know what to do with her evenings. That someone was just trying to help her get through a tough time. Not that I know that for sure or anything.
Thats right Erika:) Love your comment!
