Don’t know if you’ve heard, but Google has finally (and a bit predictably) entered the OS market.  Or, rather, they’ve announced their upcoming entry, Chrome OS.  If you’ve been living under a virtual rock and don’t know about their Chrome browser, you should check it out.  Its super fast and runs Google apps really well.  As a webmaster, I still use Firefox (just upgraded to 3.5) which has some great developer tools, like Firebug.  But if you’ve got simple browsing needs (Facebook, Gmail, blogs, etc.), Chrome may be the browser for you.  And just wait for next year when netbooks start shipping with Chrome OS.
